๐Ÿ“–What is it?

The BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food) Feeding Calculator determines daily raw food quantities using the classic 80-10-10 ratio: 80% muscle meat, 10% raw meaty bones, and 10% organ meat (with at least half being liver).

๐ŸŽฏHow to use

Enter your pet's weight, select the feeding percentage based on activity level (2-2.5% for most adult dogs), and adjust the ratio percentages. The calculator outputs grams per component per day.

๐Ÿ’กExample scenario

A 25 kg average adult dog at 2.5% body weight: 25,000g x 0.025 = 625 g/day. 80% muscle = 500g, 10% bone = 62.5g, 10% organ = 62.5g (31g should be liver).

๐Ÿ†Pro tip

NEVER feed cooked bones รขโ‚ฌโ€ they splinter and cause internal injuries. Raw bones are safe. Nutritional balance is achieved over time (across a week), not in every single meal. Include a variety of protein sources (beef, chicken, pork, fish) for micronutrient completeness. Supplement with fish oil for omega-3s. Transition gradually over 2-3 weeks to avoid digestive upset. Veterinary supervision is recommended, especially for puppies.
