What is it?
The Days Between Dates calculator tells you how many days, weeks, and months separate any two dates. It uses a simplified model (30-day months, 365-day years) that is accurate to within a few days for most planning purposes.
How to use
Enter the start date (year, month, day) in the first three fields and the end date in the last three fields. The calculator returns the absolute difference in days, weeks, and approximate months. Order does not matter — the result is always positive.
Example scenario
Planning a wedding on October 12, 2025 and today is January 1, 2024? The calculator shows roughly 647 days (about 92 weeks or 21 months) to plan. Use it to set milestone reminders: venue at 18 months, invitations at 3 months, etc.
Pro tip
For projects spanning leap years, add 1 day to account for the extra Feb 29. For countdown timers to events, enter today's date as the start date and the event date as the end. Most corporate deadlines are counted in business days — divide the result by 7 and multiply by 5 for a rough business-day estimate.
