What is it?
A comprehensive retirement planning tool that projects how much your savings will grow by retirement, then checks whether that fund can sustain your desired monthly income for 30 years — all adjusted for inflation using the real rate of return.
How to use
Enter your current age, target retirement age, current savings, and how much you save each month. Set your expected annual return and inflation rate. Finally, specify the monthly income you want in retirement. The calculator will show whether your projected fund exceeds or falls short of the amount needed.
Example scenario
A 30-year-old with $50,000 saved, contributing $1,000/month at 7% return and 3% inflation, wanting $5,000/month in retirement. The planner projects the retirement fund and compares it to the inflation-adjusted cost of 30 years of withdrawals.
Pro tip
A positive surplus means you are on track. If you see a shortfall, try increasing monthly savings or delaying retirement by a few years — even 2–3 extra years of compounding can make a significant difference.
