Toilet Paper Hoarding Calculator
Calculate exactly how many rolls your household needs to survive any number of days — pandemic or otherwise.

What is it?
A lighthearted but mathematically sound calculator for determining how many rolls of toilet paper a household needs for any given number of days — useful for emergency preparedness, camping trips, or just satisfying curiosity.
How to use
Enter the number of people in your home, your typical weekly roll consumption per person, and the number of days you want to be stocked for. The result shows exact rolls needed (rounded up), total individual sheets, and daily usage per person.
Example scenario
A family of 4 using 1.5 rolls/person/week wants a 90-day supply: 4 x 1.5 x (90/7) ≈ 77.1, rounded up to 78 rolls. That is 15,600 total sheets, or about 200 squares per person per day — perfectly reasonable.
Pro tip
The average American uses about 100 rolls per year (~1.9 rolls/week). Store rolls in a cool, dry place — toilet paper does not expire but can absorb moisture. Rotate stock FIFO (first in, first out). Fun fact: during the 2020 pandemic panic buying, studies showed demand only increased ~10%, but fear of shortages caused perception of 10x scarcity. It was never actually necessary to hoard.
